  • Q:How do I request City of Reno infrastructure records?

    A: Public records requests can be made through our Public Records Request Portal. Alternatively, you can reach the records division with the City Clerk by calling 775-348-3932 or by emailing RecordMgt@reno.gov. Once the information is ready for viewing, you will receive the information through email, unless otherwise requested.
  • Q:What is street stockpiling?

    A: Street stockpiling is defined as temporary material storage, material processing, and material crushing. Reno Municipal Code Section 18.03.503(h) details standards and requirements necessary to be implemented in the operation of a temporary stockpile site. Stockpiling shall not impair natural drainage patterns and shall be protected against erosion.   • Q:When is a permit required for a project on a road or sidewalk?

    A: A permit is generally required when someone intends to excavate, and/or block City right-of-way for their own use or benefit. More details are outlined in the following sections of City code: 12.08.030, 6.11, and 6.30.150.

Items that can be reported through Reno Direct include unauthorized uses of streets or sidewalks, City of Reno construction project issues, traffic issues, sidewalk repairs, potholes, street sweeping, City tree maintenance and identification and snow removal.   • Q:How do I request an inspection for Excavation and Encroachment permits?

    A: To request an inspection for Excavation and Encroachment permits, please call Public Works at (775) 334-2548 a minimum of 24 hours in advance to schedule all inspections for aggregate base, concrete forms and storm/sewer lateral installation and connections prior to tie-in, backfill, or concrete placement. Inspections for trenchless lateral rehabilitation must be scheduled within one working day after completion of the work.
  • Q:What are private project work hours?

    A: Private project work hours depend on the project and should be listed on project plans and permit documents. For more information, please contact Development Services.
  • Q:What are work hours for work in the right-of-way?

    A: Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm. Alternate work hours may be approved by City Staff. Contact PWPermits@reno.gov with questions.
