City of Reno Invites Community to the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival
The City of Reno’s official annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will occur at Reno City Plaza on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 7 p.m. during the two-day Holiday Lights Festival happening Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30 from 4 to 9 p.m., presented by Great American Craft Fair.

RFD to Recognize Promotions and New Hires at Badge Pinning Ceremony
The Reno Fire Department invites the public and media to celebrate its 16 newest hires and recognize 24 recent rank promotions at the 2024 RFD Badge Pinning Ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the McKinley Arts & Culture Center.

City of Reno administrative offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day.

City of Reno offices closed on October 25 for Nevada Day (Observed)
All City of Reno recreation facilities and certain pools will also be closed on October 25. Please visit Reno.gov/ParksandRec for more information. The Neil Road Rec Center and Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center will be open from 10a-6p only for voting.

City of Reno and Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Reach Approval for Transfer of Fire Services
Today, the City of Reno and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) announce the approval of an Interlocal Agreement (ILA). The agreement combines city and airport fire departments in order to meet the needs of a growing community and a growing airport.

Moya Blvd. Road Closure for Sewer Project
The City of Reno would like to inform the media and the public about upcoming traffic impacts due to the Moya Sewer Project. Starting October 23, 2024, through December 2024, all southbound lanes on Moya Boulevard between North Red Rock Road and Lear Boulevard will be closed with detours in place.

In a continued effort to prioritize pedestrian safety, the City of Reno has introduced northern Nevada’s first-ever Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB), a traffic control device aimed at helping pedestrians safely cross higher-speed roadways at midblock crossings and uncontrolled intersections.
