Director of Maintenance and Operations
Travis Truhill was appointed as the City of Reno’s Director of Maintenance and Operations in August 2022.
Travis has been employed with the City since 2005, when he began working in the Community Development Department, performing engineering plan reviews for building permits.
Travis moved to Public Works Capital Projects, where he spent 10 years overseeing various programs such as the encroachment and excavation permitting, general construction inspection, sidewalk replacement program, Special Assessment Districts (SADs) and asphalt path program.
He was promoted to Streets Program Manager in 2017, then spent four years as the Maintenance and Operations Manager overseeing various programs such as downtown maintenance, roadway signs and paint, street sweeping, pavement maintenance and winter snow and ice control. As Director of the newly formed Maintenance and Operations Department, he continues to oversee the Streets Maintenance Division, in addition to the divisions of Facility Maintenance, Sewer and Storm Drain Maintenance, and Fleet Maintenance.
Travis has a degree in Business Management and a Masters in Business Administration. He is a 35-year resident of Nevada.
