Director of Housing and Neighborhood Development
Monica Cochran was appointed as the Director of Housing and Neighborhood Development in July 2023. Housing and Neighborhood Development is charged with regional affordable housing efforts and initiatives, housing stability, and neighborhood improvements for low-and moderate-income households.
Monica came to the City of Reno in 2016 with a unique perspective based on past experience in grant administration, resource development, housing, and economic development. She has over 20 years of experience related to programs and policies that primarily benefit low-to-moderate-income households and those experiencing housing instability.
Monica has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance from California State University, Long Beach and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Additionally, she is a member of several boards and committees related to housing initiatives and policy.
Monica enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling to new places.
