Purpose

The Special Events Sponsorship Committee reviews special events sponsorship applications and makes recommendations to the Special Events Subcommittee of the Reno City Council for in-kind sponsorship for events that take place in parks or city streets.

Members 

The Special Events Sponsorship Committee consists of 3 members who are appointed by the Special Events Subcommittee of the Reno City Council. The regular term for membership is one year.

Typical Duties

The committee will review all requests for special events applications and implement the guidelines of the special events policy, including availability of city resources, city policy and department policy. 

Time Commitment 

The committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center Board Room for approximately 3 hours. As the event season nears, that commitment may increase to 2 meetings per month.
