Reno Home Wildland Fuels Reduction Program: Dumpster Service
The Reno Home Wildland Fuels Reduction Program aids homeowners in Reno's wildland-urban interface communities by providing dumpsters for creating defensible space. Funded through grants from the State Farm Good Neighbor Program and Waste Management, the program offers 30-yard dumpsters for one-time use, delivered on Thursdays or Fridays and picked up every Tuesday. Priority is given to neighborhoods within the Reno Fire Department's jurisdiction, especially those in high fire-risk areas. Residents interested in participating should submit their applications promptly, as there's a limited number of dumpsters available each weekend. Submit your application today!

General Information
Our Region often has strong winds. What is a Red Flag Warning? A Red Flag Warning is issued when warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to substantially increase fire danger. When a Red Flag warning is issued:
- Stay aware of the weather and your surroundings
- Be extremely careful with open flames or refrain from using fire pits or open barbeques
- Do not throw cigarettes or matches out of a moving vehicle
- If you see smoke or fire, call 911 ASAP
- Be ready to evacuate quickly if ordered or a fire threatens

Clear Air
Many residents like to take advantage of using a wood stove or fireplace to burn wood or pellets to help heat their homes. Did you know that there is a Burn Code determined each day by the Washoe County Health Department based on our current air quality that tells us if we are allowed to burn?
