The City galleries are a vital component to the cultural life of the City of Reno and aspire to engage diverse audiences and create a sense of community while providing a place for engagement, contemplation, and exchange of ideas. The City of Reno’s art galleries serve the citizens of Reno and tourists by exhibiting and promoting the work of local and regional artists, fostering the understanding of contemporary art, and beautifying city buildings

The City of Reno has three traditional galleries, Metro Gallery at City Hall, McKinley Galleries East and West located at McKinley Arts and Culture Center. Both the Metro Gallery and McKinley Galleries East and West are programmed year-round with exhibitions and artist receptions, all of which are open to the public and free of charge.

The city also maintains three alternative gallery spaces, Canyon Flats Video Wall, University Way & Lake Street Window galleries and the citywide Aerial Gallery.
