The Civil Service Commission is established by the State of Nevada Legislature in the Reno City Charter, Article IX, and is an autonomous body of seven City of Reno citizens who meet once per month. Commissioners have no other connection to the City of Reno and are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council to serve a five year term.
