- Did this incident occur outside of City of Reno limits/boundaries?
- Are any of these situations involved in your report?
- Missing persons
- Domestic or Physical Violence
- Stolen license plates
- Stolen vehicles (includes ALL motorized vehicles & trailers)
- Sex related crimes
If you answered NO to both of the questions above, you can proceed with filing a report online.
If the nature of the crime you are reporting was a type that cannot be reported online, you still have options for filing a report. Please contact the RPD Front Desk at 775-334-2175 to discuss your reporting options. The front desk is available Mon-Fri from 8:00am - 5:30pm.
If you are unable to reach the front desk, please call the Reno Police Department's non-emergency dispatch number at 775-334-2677. Dispatchers will assess your situation and provide you with the most appropriate options for filing this report.
If you need to report an incident that occurred within City of Sparks or Washoe County:
Traffic Accident Reporting
Traffic accidents on public or private roads within the City of Reno where information was exchanged between all involved parties are not investigated by Reno PD unless officers were on scene at the time of the accident. Pursuant to NRS 484E.070, the state of Nevada requires an SR-1 form to be completed for all traffic accidents where information was exchanged between involved parties and law enforcement did not investigate at the scene of the accident.

For traffic accidents on City of Reno roads where one or more involved parties did not stay on scene and/or did not exchange information with other involved parties, please file a Hit and Run Traffic Accident report below.
If you need to report a traffic accident that occurred on a highway or interstate, please call Nevada State Police at 775-687-9600.

In Reno, anyone may park on any public street, regardless of who owns the home where the vehicle is parked. However, vehicles on a public street for 72 hours or more without moving are considered abandoned (even if the vehicle belongs to the home it's parked in front of).
To report an abandoned vehicle, citizens should contact Reno Direct at 775-334-4636, [email protected], Or via chat on Reno.gov. Be prepared to provide as much of the following information as possible:
- Exact location of the vehicle (address it’s parked in front of or the street it’s on and the nearest cross street)
- Color, make, model, and license plate number
- Anything that stands out aesthetically, such as damage, flat tires, stickers, etc.
- How long it has been since it last moved from its current position.
NOTE: Please allow up to 7 days from the date of the report for status response.

To check the status of a report you submitted in person at a police station or a report taken by an Officer or CSO, please contact the Detective Division at 775.334.2115.
Existing Online Reports:
- If you see graffiti on a building, wall, fence, etc., call Reno Direct at 775-334-4636 (INFO) and tell them the location of the graffiti or submit an online service request. We can begin the process to have it removed.
- If graffiti has occurred on property owned by you, please "New Report" above to file a police report.
