Biggest Little City

The Office of Management and Budget works with the City Manager to provide credible budget and fiscal planning, analysis and management strategies to enhance service delivery to City of Reno residents.

The City’s budget is the tool by which the organization translates its strategy into action. As the foundation for all strategic and management decisions, the Office of Management and Budget provides oversight and management of the City’s budget with a focus on communication, accuracy, and transparency. The Office of Management and Budget also develops and compiles performance measure information. This information is incorporated into the annual budget process and is used by departmental staff throughout the year to measure progress in meeting performance goals for programs and activities that operate to serve the public interest.

Grant and fund development complements the fiscal planning and strategic decision-making process overseen by the Office of Management and Budget. Staff seeks funding mechanisms that support the City Council’s adopted priorities and develops comprehensive short- and long-term strategies to implement these objectives.
